Why we ask for your ID and selfie
DirectHome uses your ID photo and selfie only to help confirm that you are a real person and to protect the platform from fraud, impersonation and fake accounts.
Your documents are never shown publicly and are not shared with property owners, tenants, buyers, sellers, agents, advertisers or other users.

Who can see your documents?
Only authorised DirectHome administrators responsible for verification can access your ID photo and selfie. They are not displayed on your public profile or property listings.
How long do we keep them?
Files are automatically deleted 90 days after verification is completed, unless an active fraud, abuse, dispute, security or legal case requires longer retention. Minimal verification and audit metadata remains. Deleted files may remain temporarily in encrypted disaster-recovery backups until those backups are overwritten.
Searching for property does not require an ID upload. We show this now so you know what to expect if you later choose to list property or apply as an agent. You will see this explanation again before uploading.
